Re: TBI

Dlelsea.. The look of the injectors spraying too much fuel is normal... I know it looks like alot of fuel is comming out, but it usually is just the way the injectors make it look because of their spray pattern...

Your problem could be caused by anything form a dirty fuel system or filter, a bad sensor, or just the need of a good basic tune up (plugs, cap, rotor, ect.)... A little fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank could'nt hurt either...

I would begin by checking the basics like making sure the ignition timing is correct, adequate fuel supply, and using a service manual and a code scanner; to check for trouble codes... http://216.230.203.183/marine/marine.htm The CodeMate
EFI Code Reader, Part #94008 listed on the link, would be adequate to help you diagnose any problems you may have with any sensors...

P.S. Just like a car with fuel injection, Don't "pump the throttle" when you try to start it.. With EFI/TBI, that will just make matters worse... ;)

dlelsea

Try opening up the throttle slightly while cranking....if it starts better, look to the idle air control motor (IAC)....
