We're having a shortage of TC-W3 reputed brand oils, there's a local Company which is importing 2 stroke oil in barrels and re packing it in small !/4 bottles. The label states TC-W3 outboard rated. Should I ask the local importer to provide a copy of the importer's TC-W3 certification, the one hes' buying it from ? It's just for my peace of mind as I always have used Yamalube, Chevron, Amalie, Akron certified 2 stroke oils. .Cheap oil is not synonymous with Good....

Sea Rider, I can understand your questioning about such imported oils. But really, do we seriously know about anything being marketed these days? How many other produces that state certifications are seriously passing such? We have more serious issues with food produces then some suspect 2 cycle oils. When such things were manufactured here in good old USA we didn't have such issues about what we take as safe produces. But those days are behind us now with nearly everything we purchase coming from China. And remember China really doesn't like America very much but sees us as their dumping grounds for so many tainted produces. From dog food to medicines we take things in stride really not knowing if the produce it checked or not... And that IS sad!

I would check with the National Marine Manufactures Association (NMMA) since they are the certification authority, and have trade marked TWC3
https://www.nmma.org/certification/certification/oil/tc-w3.aspx

Same goes for motor oil and the API certification

The product is re braned as Aquamax, it's not listed on the nmma org certification, probably the original seller sells a certified TC-W3 oil to our local importer, but we don't know who this seller might be or its commercial brand.
