Home sick today and watching the USA play Italy in basketball. I am always pulling for the US but in watching this game it is refreshing to watch a team, play like a team, follow the fundamentals and win.

It appears in international ball, traveling is a violation, passing does still exist, defense works, the outside shot still has value, and free throws are for more than a closeup.

Italy has lead in every category except tatoo's. Larry Brown has his work cut out for him if he wants to retain the gold.

You know, if the US team would find some good amature players to play for us, college atheletes perhaps, or maybe retired NBA players the likes of Larry Bird :) ; then I might be inclinded to watch...

GO USA!

Good. These matches are to "blood" team USA, and a bit of humility is a good thing when you are preparing for the big one.

Better now than in Athens. :)

Any team that would make Allen Iverson a co-captain, doesn't deserve any respect.

What a Joke.

Italy

Not to disrespect Italy, but Basketball is something the good 'ol U.S. shouldn't be losing to the likes of Italy. Hats off to 'em. I heard that they were considered one of the weakest teams in the field.

About only one player on this U.S. team I care to watch, and thats Tim Duncan.

Agree with Pointer, its only gonna get tougher.

I am not a big fan of professional atheletes competing in the olympics. Because of this, moments like "The Miracle on Ice" in 1980 will not happen for us anymore. The only team sports I may watch are women's soccer and maybe some water polo.
