Hello
I am trying to release the imprisoned 3.9 Horses in my 6hp Mariner. I already found out, that the 9.9 has an exhaust-tube and the 6 and 8hp not, which would partially explain the oil that comes out of the 2 small exhaust-holes at the back of the drive-housing right beneath the powerhead. This will be "fixed" this winter.
What i need now, is the diameter of the carburetor and the main-jet, as well as the idle-jet. Sadly, i cannot find any information on the internet and i don't want to base my modifications on some formulas for little 2-Stroke Engines used in High-RPM Motorcycle-Engines.
Could someone tell me the dimensions of the carb of the 209ccm 9.9HP Mariner/Mercury-Engines, that were built from 1987 to ca. 1998?
Thanks in advance
Greetings
Thorsten
Edit: Beside the Carb-Diameter, the Main-Jet and the addition of an Exhaust-Tube in the Driveshaft-Housing, is there another difference between the 6, 8 and 9.9HP Engines?
