Model number 574-60211 accoring to the owners manual the ratio should be 100:1 using some kind of Sears brand outboard oil. or a SAE 40 outboard oil 1/2 pint to 3 gallons of gas. I have been running it at 40:1 and it runs fine but it does put a slick of oil on the water when its running. Should I keep running it at 40:1 or do the 100:1 ? Or is there a different ratio I should use.?
Any ideas?

1/2 pt to 3 gal is 50:1. Run that rather than 100:1. Personally I'd even fatten that up and 40:1 doesn't sound unreasonable. Use any modern outboard 2-stroke oil.
