Even tho it doesn't have points it still generates spark power from the flywheel & magnet passing by the coil. Maybe the flywheel has a layer of rust on it keeping it from generating the spark ? Pull it , check it, sand the rust off of it and the coil. <br /><br />Sometimes too,,, flywheels will lose or weaken their magnetism which may prevent it from creating the necessary electronic field. <br /><br />I have one of those old motors laying under my storage building if you'd like I can check the numbers on it to verify part cross over and we may can work a deal. If I'm not mistaken, the one I have is called a 7.5 but looks like a 5hp Techumshe 2 stroke.<br /><br />Let me know....
