ted williams motor leaking fuel

I have an old 7.5 horse ted williams motor (1970s?). When cold starts and runs poorly for about 45 seconds and dies. the fuel then leaks from the exhaust until the tank is empty. motor wont start again until it has sat for a few hours. Know whats wrong? any help would be appreciated

Sounds to me as if the carburetor needle valve is leaking. It is just dumping fuel through the crankcase.<br /><br />It shouldn't be too hard to repalce. It will require carburetor diassembly.<br /><br />NAPA may have parts for the carb.
