Over last weekend while sleeping on the boat in its slip I was awaken by laughing a giggling. I got up looked out the windshield and seen two boys about 14 messing around. They walked up to my dock locker where I use my inverter to power my 110v for my boat.

I overheard them saying that they wonder what is in that big black box. When one reached down to try to open it, I BLASTED the air horns. Both boys jumped as it scared the holy crap out of them. The one boy said lets get out of here, it must be a security system and I don't need to get into trouble again.

The park ranger was just sitting about 100 yards away watching them through his night vision. He quickly apprehended them as they were running back to their campsite. Later on the ranger said he laughed practically all night about me scaring the crap out of them with my air horns.

So I think I am going to install a micro switch on the dock locker, cabin door, and engine compartment door to a relay on the air horns.

I think I was just lucky to catch them in the act. What if I wasn't there. My batteries would have been destroyed along with the inverter.

Thanks to those that helped me get rid of that Bad Luck Hex. Things are getting better. Except for abnormal amounts of rain.

Well Sloopy, I think maybe one of them needed a change of underwear. :D The ranger just took the boys back to their campsites and parents.

I had an alarm on my boat at one time but I put another horn inside the boat. Man it was loud in there. Probably a good idea for the car too...

Just run the horn on a relay, tripped by the sensor.

Re: Teenage Thieves "SURPRISE!"

Reminds me of a little trouble I had years ago. Had two stereos and one CB ripped off out of my truck in one summer. That fall with the new stereo installed I did a little custom soldering. 4 trebles on the back chasis of the stereo. Still have the stereo, just had to clean up a little blood off the floor. Hehe

BT
