Hello!
I have a 1984 ski centurion with a chevy 350 inboard and need to replace the steering system. The helm and cable is bad. Should I get the Big-t system which is currently has or go with a 4.2 nfb? I really do not want to spend the extra money on a power steering system. Thoughts and opinions would be great. I just not sure if the 4.2 nfb is a sturdy enough unit for this boat.
Thanks

I don't think I'd go with the the 4.2 NFB as Teleflex says it's only good for up to V6 stern drives. I have one on my non-power steering 140HP Mercruiser and it's a chore to turning coming out of the hole (getting on plane). The old rack steering was hard to steer out of the hole also, but if a 4cyl is hard to turn, I couldn't imagine a V8.
