Ive got a Teleflex throttle control with trim/tilt switches on each side...any have experience on accessing the trim switchs on the throttle?, I installed a complete trim pump/motor few years ago, noted when pushing the up tilt I'd push in the switch on the throttle control and hold it down, the pump would not always fire immediately, sometimes second or so later.. likely a contact in the throttle control in need of adjustment? anyone accessed those switches in there? any help appreciated...

How often does it happen? If it is frequently, I'd just jumper the solenoid and see if you get the delay. If it is random and intermittent, I'd probably hook up a small 12v light and thread it somewhere visible, have it hooked to the output of the trim switch.

I agree with BT, when a switch goes, it usually doesn't fail like that. Sounds more like a solenoid that doesn't quite have a good ground connection and sometimes takes a bit to build up enough magnetic field to pull the plunger.

thanks, will check all the connections again, last year was taking boat out of Cayuga Lake in NYS, went to bring motor up, nothing.....I found connections had loosened from vibration I'd suspect...tightened everything up and up it came....
