tell-tale stopped

Went out for a run last night and on the way back the tell-tale stopped peeing water.It was still coming out of the exhaust though.I dont think the motor overheated because i could leave my hand on the block for a few seconds.I changed the impeller last year and I am thinking the water pump has went.Motor is an 87 Johnson 20hp

Try running a piece of wire up into the tell-tale. Its probably just stopped up.

thats what happened,there was a little bit of grass stopped up in there.Thanks alot

My telltale gets plugged a lot. I installed a pressure meter and no longer have to keep glancing back and worrying about or troubleshooting the tell tale when it doesn't work.
