Telltale tap location for '75 25HP Evinrude

Has anyone had success putting a telltale on a 1975 25HP Evinrude model 25502b? Specifically where should I tap the head for the outlet?
Is it possible to mount it on the top of the thermostat cover, away from the thermostat of course?

i would not use the tstat cover, there is a 2 cylinder that has been done here.
