Ok... I didnt want to post ANOTHER question about sending units and temp gauges. I have been reading all these forums or the past 3 days and still no luck!! I have a 1998 Larson 226 LXi with a volvo i/o and a 5.7L carbed. Temp gauge will not register after several hours of running. This is what i have done so far... 1. Replaced sending unit (no teflon) 2. Checked all wires to the best of my ability at connections. 3. Unhooked the sending unit wire (at engine) and grounded at - battery terminal...gauge did not peg. But when I ran a jumper wire from the G to S on gauge the gauge did peg... any other suggestions would be great. Thanks

Gauge reacts, new sensor, sounds like a bad wire. Try running a piece of scrap wire from the sender to the gauge. Had same problem, and found three butt splices, one bad. All of my engine wiring had three butt splices in them.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,... Obviously, the sender wire has a break in it somewhere...
