I have a 1970 Mercruiser 120 that running great now. It first ran hot a couple of weeks ago so I put a new thermostat in and no change(143 degrees). Then split the drive and put a new impeller and housing on.
At idle at the dock everything is fine but then plane it off and get going the heat slowly rises up around 195 degrees and more. So I slow down and the temp goes down.
Is my circulating water pump at the front of the motor gone? Or is it the intake, black water hose that you replace when you put new bellows on?
