Temp sensor gauge, 85 Johnson?

Hi.
I see this motor has a alarm feature but is it possible to hook to the sensors and make use of the temp gauge i have in my dash.

I think its just a temp switch on there that turns on in an overheat situation, i dont think theres one which does temperature readings unfortunately.

Hopefully im wrong
