want to test temp sensor but not sure the correct way to remove w/o damaging it. i removed retaining ring/screws and the sensor seems to be lodged into the block...i dont want to just start tugging on the wire or trying to pry it out in fear of damaging something. any info would be appreciated...the oem manual is not very helpful past removing the retaining ring (to say the least). It should just fall out. If it's that crudded up, chisel it out with your bowie knife, clean out the hole, and replace it.

hope it helps

Mine had a large rubber plug that was holding it in. Used a small flat head srewdriver to get the rubber plug out and then the sensor came out.

Honker1 is right, just work a very small blade screw driver around the rubber and it will come out. Your right about the book being vague on that. Been there done that.
