Temp sensor

Upgraded to a 1998 130hp evinrude on my boat. I am wondering how to tap into/wire the temp gauge. I had an old 70hp Johnson on it that I had to run a separate wire from the motor to the gauge. What's the best way to hookup the new gauge and what wires?

same hook up you had on the 70. Mount the sensor and run a wire.

i dont have a tach on my boat so i hooked up the sender wire to the tach wire that runs through the main cable harness to the control/throttle box.
From there i used the tach output plug which is below the key switch and ran a wre from there to the gauge
