My boat did not come with a temperature gauge. I recently purchased one and i'm looking how to install it. Does anyone know where i'm suppose to screw the Sending unit into? The cylinder head? Is there a location for this? Thanks for your help

Don't you think it would help if we had some idea of what it is you are working on?

Re: Temperature Gauge Outboard

The next question is do you have the temp sender and what type is it. Threaded or contact type? If it is the threaded type it can be screwed into any port that puts the tip of the sender in the water jacket. Or it can be screwed into the optional "Z" bracket and attached to the cylinder head with a head bolt (which technically makes it a cylinder head temp gauge). Or you could use the contact type that also bolts onto the head via a head bolt. If this is all new stuff, it should have come with instructions. If you didn't get any, contact the supplier of the sender and gauge.

It did not come with a sender unit.. It says you can purchase one from the maker of the gauge.. Mentions a threaded temp sender. So, there is a place on the cylinder head for this to screw into?
