I purchased a 25 tempest plus for my 17' 150xr2 and I have no hole shot but top end is great!! I have a chance at a 25 Trophy plus will Run into the same problem with the hole shot with a 4 blade...... 65@5400 with the tempest plus
Have you played with the PVS exhaust venting plugs to help hole shot?
A 25P prop is a lot for a 150 to turn unless your hull is very lite so you may what to try a 23 or 24P Tempest. I suspect the Trophy will be as slow as the Tempest out of the hole.
The XR-2 likes to run at 5800-6000 rpm. You have too much pitch. A 22 pitch Laser II would be a better choice to improve hole shot and let that baby scream like it's supposed to.
In that case I would recommend having a your 25P Tempest worked by a prop shop. I would recommend Mark at Mark's High Performance Propeller. Mark's High Performance Propeller, call him he'll know what to do with it. It may be as simple as adding a second set of PVS holes for a little more venting and maybe reducing the pitch a little.
