Temporary Registration in California?

Does anyone know if the California DMV will give out temporary registration for boats like they do for vehicles? I want to take my boat out this weekend but realized I am missing some paperwork they need to complete my registration. It expired in 2009

I got a temporary registration when I bought the boat new. Haven't had to renew yet so can't answer you question for sure but i'd imagine a call to your local DMV office and you'll have your answer.
