So this freaky cold weather is bringing some cold temperatures tonight where my boat is located and still in the water. The temperatures are dropping to -1C overnight :faint2:

Is a brief period of slightly freezing temperature enough time for the block to cool down enough to freeze? The lake temperature will be way above freezing, probably mid/upper teens C, so perhaps the ambient temperature above the water won't be that cold.

Should I be worried? I have no way to get to the boat before tonight.

is the boat in the water, or is the boat on a trailer?

if on a trailer, drain the block and hoses

if in the water, dont worry about it for the night. the lake is much higher temp than the air temp and it will keep the bilge temp up.

First, our boat is a 1992 Celebrity 200 Cuddy w/5.7L/V-8 Mercruiser I/O.

We got a couple of inches of snow, here in northern Colorado, on the 8th of Sept. (evening). The temp got down to around 25 degrees. Took our boat out on local lake on Monday, the 14 of Sept @ 83 degrees, and it started nicely and ran great. Will take it out one more time, but this time to do some rainbow trout fishing, before getting it ready to take into marine service for winterization.
