Do you know anything about these motors or the manufacturer? I have a Model 500 Mighty Mite (2-1/2hp) that came with a small used sail boat. Seller says he never ran the engine and it has probably sat idle for over 10 years. Would like to find instruction book, parts book, maintenance manual.

Re: TerMar Neptune outboard motors

The design goes back at least to the 30's and was largely unchanged until the last compamy to make them stopped in the 80's I think. The first maker was Muncie Gear Works and they were 1.7 HP, single cylinder water cooled motors, somewhat noisy and smoky, but generally reliable. I have a 1938 model which still runs and owned one I bought new in the 70's. You will likely find some info from:

http://www.aomci.org/aomcadvt.htm

You can also try:

http://www.propnut.com/

Good luck!
