Does anybody know the terminal size thats on the trigger that connects to to switchbox. I dont wanna put anything bigger or anything smaller. Not sure if it would matter if i put bigger or smaller but would like to put the same size back on. The info would be much appreciated.

Trigger wires are really small and generates very small voltage and barely with current. I do not believe you can go too small when replacing one.

Thanks jiggz for info. Reason i asked is becuz 2 of the terminals on the trigger needed replaced. I put all new terminals on the trigger wires but i used alittle bit bigger terminal. Then the ones that were on there and sense i did that my rpms been going crazy.
My boat runs great. When you first start it up it idles perfect and takes off and will run great. But when you put it in neutral rpms go crazy and get alittle high.
I just got timing set perfect. I didnt compression test. Thats perfect. I cleaned carbs. I put new fuel filter new fuel lines.
Only thing i can think of is using bigger terminals is the cause.

At first what engine are we talking about, year and Hp?
I guess from another thread you started waterboy84 it is a Force 120Hp but are we talking Prestolite or Mercury ignition?

Size of terminal is importent for the size for crimping the wire to the cable lug and the connection to the screw or nut.
They must fit. To big for crimping the wire.......no good. Can cause bad connection. To big for connection to the switchbox terminal ...........no good, can also cause a bad connection or insulation.

Bigger terminals will cause fluctuation in rpms in idle................farfetched.!

Nordin. Thanks for the info. That info was really helpful. Yes its for the same motor. 120hp force. I kind of figured the issue was becuz of the little bigger terminal connectors cuz i didnt have the crazy rpm thing until i put those on. Im gonna go to store and find some the same size and hopefully problem will be solved. Thanks again
That is a murcury ignition. Atleast on the coilpacks it says murcury and the switchbox also says murcury.

I changed the ones on my trigger and stator and had no problems with idle?
I used the smallest I could get but not as small as what was on there.

Just make sure they survive a tug test when crimped.

We had rpm increase when we throttled back to neutral, it was an air leak at the #3 cylinder excess fuel drain hose, down to the dogbone, I think we got 3/8 and it was 5/16. The 3/8 fit tight until the motor warmed up, then it started sucking air

So tom. Let me ask you a question if you dont mind.
You said you had a rpm issue due to cyl 3 air leak.
Out of all cylinders. Number 3 was the one with the air leak and i notice that little hole is right next to cyl 3. Is it becuz behind the fuel diaphram where it mounts to the motor there is alittle hole in the motor block and it appears that little hole operates with the fuel diaphram.
What is that little hole anyways. Whats its purpose and what does it do.
Anyhow. So if fuel diaphram is defective and isnt working right are you saying fuel can leak into that hole or maybe air is going into that hole.
