terrova 101 trouble

I have a 1 year old min kota terrova 101. Today on the lake it would only power up to 5. 5 1/2 to 8 1/2 would not increase speed at all. At 9 it would slow down and at 10 the motor would shot off. All the wire, breaker etc is recommended size. Any suggestions. Thanks

Check the batteries first, voltage, hydrometer, load check.

How old are the batteries and how have they been charged, (charged immediately after each use or left sitting discharged all winter)?

The batteries are 1 year old also and have kept on a three bank charger. I will check the voltage though. Thanks

Check the electrolyte level too, when checking the cells with a hydrometer.

I should have said "load test" instead of "load check". You would have to haul them down to an auto parts store or where you bought them and have them load tested though.....

Take it to a dealer and get it fixed. It has a 2 year warranty.
