Test for bad motor mount?

Is there a way to test to see if one of my motor mounts are bad? I have a suspicion this maybe the case, but I wanted to check to see how to definitively tell.

Most 70s and newer OBs have motor mounts on top and on the bottom of the steering swivel rod. These connect the powerhead and midsection to the swivel rod.

Give the motor a push/pull at those points and see how much play the mounts have. Unless you hit something real hard, the motor mounts hold up for decades, if not the life of the engine.
