Does anybody know if there is a way to test an electronic fuel gauge? Thank You in advance. Stuart

run a multimeter to it and see if there is resistance, if not, you have an open circuit somewhere. If the gauge is dead it will also read 0 on the ohms.<br /><br />Get a multimeter at your local home improvement shop for less than $15, it will save you lots of $$$ on repairs, plus aspirin for all the headaches on trying to figure it out.

Here's an easy way to test it. Remove the sender wire from the gauge, turn key to run but do not start the engine. The needle should be below "E". Then use a screwdriver to short the "S" terminal of the gauge to the "G" terminal of the gauge. The needle should be above "F", If this happens the gauge is good and the problem is within the sender or the wiring from the sender.
