testing a 1987 evinrude tilt-n-trim...

got a tilt-n-trim unit off a 1987 70hp Evinrude. I would like to test it before installing it on a motor. it is a 2 wire unit (1 blue, 1 green) how can I test it to a battery?

Blue is blue for sky and green is green for grass. Look UP at the sky and look DOWN at the grass.

Ground the unit to the battery and touch the positive to either the blue or green wire.

Nope--No need to ground the unit at all.--------Touch blue to positive and green to negative for up.----Then green to positive and blue to negative for down.
