Testing an OMC power pack...

How can you test an OMC power pack? Part number 582452 off a two cylinder 40hp.

You can test the charge coil.----You can test the sensor coil.-----You can switch ignition coils.-------You can test the key switch.----You can test the kill switch.---Both coils did not fail.----Then you can decide whether powerpack needs replacement.----There is no method of tested the powerpack at home with a multi meter as far as I know.-----But then I have lots of powerpacks so swapping one out is easy for me as a test.

^+1. dfrants -- You post about a variety of motors. That CD-2 power pack is probably common to a few of them, or more than a few. If you don't have one on the shelf, it's worth pulling one off a working motor and use it for testing on the 40.
