1994 225 Johnson, VRO bypassed. I wanted to test the temperature sensors and the warning horn today.
I have the brown wire coming out of each cylinder head's sensor. The port one has three wires, I believe the white/black wire is the "quick start" and it works because when I unplug it, the engine idle jumps way up.
With the key turned on and the engine off, I unplugged the black rubber connector that goes into the sensors (brown wire only in and out of it), and then i grounded each end and nothing happened, no alarm. I tried it with the engine running and grounded the each side separately and again, no alarm. I also unplugged the fuel pressure switch and grounded it and no alarm. Am I doing this correctly to test? When I turn the key switch on, I get one beep on the horn and everything looks good at the buzzer, ground wire molded in and brown wire plugged on it and purple/pinkish wire powering it. It beeps when key is first turned on.
