I'd just like to thank everyone who helped me out in my quest for a working boat. I got it ready before duck season and have been hunting several times now. A few updates to those who have seen my questions:

The overheat problem was a false indication. It seems that I snapped off the ground lead on my light as I was installing it in the dash. OOPS!
The ground lead would occasionally hit the metal dash and provide the circuit ground for the overheat buzzer (but hey.....no light!)
Re-soldered my leads and it works well.

I've run the boat a half dozen times or so now, each time with no problems. She fires right up as soon as you hit the key!!!

This is a great duck boat, I can run in pretty shallow, about knee deep! It would run in less, but I don't have shallow water drive.

Thanks Again!!
Brandon
