Sorry don't know what you actually call that stream of water from near the top of the engine.
2002 Mercury ELTPO 40 HP.
Took the boat out today. Had the little squirt coming out. THen on the way back in after a bad storm hit notice that we didn't have it. Keep checking the top part of the engine but it didn't seen to get hot at all. Power seemed good.
So not sure what is going on and what I need to do. Impaler was replaced by the person we bought it from back in October of last year.

THanks

First thing to do is shove a long piece of lawn trimmer plastic line up the hose where the water comes out to see if you can feel a blockage. Mud daubers and other bugs love to nest in that tube.

Thanks will try that. So I can show some intelligence in the future how should this issue be referred to other than that little squirt from the engine LOL.

Thanks

Water from the P(iss) tube, though I doubt the intelligence of that. When operating correctly, there should be a good solid stream of water out that tube.

Thanks

Some refer to it as the tell-tale stream.
