Just ordered my new cables last weekend from Iboat, they came today, WOW, great service.

Still waiting for my controller I bought on Ebay. The person shipped it "standard post" and it has been sitting on the mainland for a week. They need to fill the shipping container with other mail to justify coming across on the ferry, LAME.....

I can still rig, as I have the old controller, which is in good working order, but they lost the backside to it when they removed the motor, which, I need of course to secure the cables, etc.
I'll just rob some parts off the Boston Whaler, as they are the same controller.....
The motor purrs, but I need to hook everything up to check the shift, and maybe adjust the idle, seems a bit high, but the linkage is just hanging there right now.

Well, the install even went quicker!

Had to drill out a couple screws of the other controller as they stripped out quickly, ARG.
But I put the new cables on, and ran them to the controller.
OK, the BIG test, and a major uncertainty on my part, tho I spun the prop by hand and shifted it, and all seemed good, I had never put power to it.
After sitting a day, I didn't even have to choke it, she fired right up.
Ok, I put her in gear and man o man, was it ever nice.....
She didn't clink or clunk, just as smooth as a babies butt :lol:
The cables took care of the high idle too, but I need to take some slack out of the throttle, had to advance it pretty far to raise the RPM's.
Took her to maybe 2000, and she peed and hummed.
The buzzer is still honking, but I believes its because he left the sensors wired in after he mixed his oil in the tank.....
I don't know why, it would drive me crazy, uh, crazier I mean :faint2:

I think the motor was worth the 500 I paid

In total, I am still under 1,500.00 on the rig. I need a pump, already have a fish finder, and I think I will get a CB radio for it.
Everything else is just finish work. OH, and a porti potty for the wife :facepalm:

I think you mean marine radio. You probably can get by with a hand held. I boat on the Columbia River and in reality I use my phone more than my radio. Last time I had an emergency and had to call the Coast Guard they gave me their cell phone number for better reception.

Yes, you are correct, however, I just read a Coastguard linked story about safe boating, and they reported they still monitor the radio,as well as other boaters that might be in the general vicinity, so to me, it seems a good thing to cover and extend all your safety equipment capacities.
Yes, a handheld will do, if the batteries are charged

BTW Rick,do you do the what, buoy 9 ???? Chinook fishing?
