The reason why many Volvo Aq130 engine overheat

You must have the correct thermostat.The thermostat does a dual purpose. When I bought the boat the engine had no thermostat and eventually blew the head gasket and cracked the head and valve seats at the rear of the head.So I found a used car head and ground the valves and machined the head for the tube in the front of the head and bolted it on and yes now the heat sender is at the rear of the head. Temperature reading was over 200 and yet at the front of the it was cool. After viewing the thermostat and the design of the thermostat distribution housing I came to the conclusion on how the system works also with some information from factory repair manual.
