i was wondering what kind of prop would get the rpms up on an long block that i just swapped out. its a volvo 5.7 with a two barrel on it. its in a 249 glastron 2000. i dont know what style drive but its not the ips or duoprop. the engine only revs up to 4000 rpms or so. was wondering what pitch and size would be best for salt water. or any feed back on getting the rpms up! and what is that web site for the exaust down spouts. that have the water lockout floats in them ? the water line is about 6 inches under the manifold maybe less...

Isn't 4000 a little low for that motor? I could be wrong, but you should be spinning around 4400. I don't know anything about the exhaust you are looking for. As far as what prop to use, I would guess something around a 21p. What size is on it now?

yeah 4g is a little low id like to see more. the boat only goes 30 or so now. im not exactly sure whats on it right now. do those engines have electronic advance on them? i put the timing where id thought it should be, started the motor and it was dead on with the timing light? was that good luck or the electronic advance?
