the stator is a alternator with a rectifier to change it to dc voltage ? then it goes to the powerpac like a coil on a car. is this correct?

Well....not exactly bm....

The DC voltage leaving the rectifier is for battery charging.

Most stators have extra coils for the ignition system called charge coils. These send an AC voltage to the power pack. The power pack has a rectifier built into it to change the AC to DC. This DC charge is then used to fire the ignition coils on each cylinder.
