There should be a law against cheep crap pot metal rail fittings. Had to change a couple because they were broken, funny thing is I dont recall the rail ever being hit.Needless to say I used SS replacements.

It all comes down to build cost, if they can save $30-$40 using cast it translates to the end price, no it isn't as good but that is how it is and not all builders do it, some spend the money but their boats are a bit more expensive.

Hey Dan, I've got to replace a bunch of that crap on my new/used deck boat, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the fittings at?

I got mine from Paynes Marine supply in Vancouver, kind of far from you, check your local marine store or the Iboats store.
