Re: thermostat cap/cover???

look on the yamaha website for a parts picture.
sometimes if your not careful the t-stat falls out of its seat and gets pinched and can crack the housing when its tightened, yes they are replaceable, any V4-2.6L v6 will work.
I got a few sitting outback but the shipping would be more than a used cap would cost.

Re: thermostat cap/cover???

Simple put,
Go to your local dealer and take the part in....they will likely have the part in stock. It an inexpensive part even from the dealer. Don't let an item such as this keep you out of the water...Good Luck.

Re: thermostat cap/cover???

no worries, I have done thios work for the better part of 30 years, if ya really want a head banging play with Volvo penta.
most dealers wont stock that part new but most will have a used one.
a dealer will have the parts smart software, they can type in that part number and click on the where used function and it will show every motor that uses that part, I think even some of the 3 cylinders used it.
it takes a bit to use the site, some of the parts are very difficult to find.
some dont show up at all.
