Thermostat Replacement 1960 Evinrude Big Twin 40 HP Questions

I am going to replace the thermostat on my 1960 Evinrude Big Twin 40hp since it could be 30 years old. Do I have to replace the thermostat housing as well? Should I replace the pressure control valve and spring since I have it opened? Are there any good videos out there showing how to replace? Thanks in advance.

Those thermostats often fail in the open position.-----If the other parts are clean / good condition then just replace thermostat , seal and.gasket.
