I have 89 force 125 and install a water psi gauge.I used the garden hose and ran the motor around couple minutes. No reading on the gauge?Does the thermostat have open up before you get a reading on the gauge?Water is running out of the pee holes.
Thanks

Re: thermostat

I put a water pressure gauge on my 125 hp. It reads about 8 LBs at idle and around 25 LBS at full throttle. I don't think the thermostat opening and closing has that much affect on the pressure readings, at least I don't notice it that much. Garden hose may not be supplying enough water to get a reading.....that's my guess. I have a tank that I built out of plywwod to drop my motor in. I stopped using a garden hose and muffs.

Re: thermostat

The thermostat does not have to be open to get pressure at the housing. These impellers do not put out that much pressure so you need like a 0 to 50 pound gage. Anything bigger may require too much pressure to start the needle moving.
