Hello all;
Just a quick question:
I have a 5.7 350c.i. 4 bbl carburetor Merc. that has closed cooling. It is running a 160 therm, so it runs around 180 cruising.
Question : If I put a 140 therm in would it run around 160 ??
Thanks !

Howdy,

It ain't broke! So don't fix it!

Let me also add that the T-stat is supposed to start opening at 160
This will make the the engine temp operate from 160-180 depending on load.

You WANT it to run at 180. (actually automotive engines run best at around 190-210 degrees)

Regards,

Rick
