OK - I think I have the operation of the Thermostat down pretty good. The Thermostat is at the end of the engine where the water exits. The Thermostat when it is cold blocks the water flow except for a small amont of bleeding to keep the sensor active. If that is true why does the water come out of the prop and pee hole like it is wide open whn the engine is cold. There should be no water coming out of the engine until it gets to operating temperature.<br /><br />Maybe I'm thickheaded but we will get down to the bottom if this!<br /><br />If I could see the casting diagram of the engine I could figure it out but I dont.<br /><br /> Thanks for the information!

DEPPONG,The thermostat by pass valves open by spring action when your engine is cold allowing water to circulate until the thermostats open! bill
