thermostats?

im fixin to get a 88spl 90yr mod should I have the shop change the thermostats first ? It was running good a few months ago for the previous owner.should I just wait and see how the motor is gonna run? <br /> Shovelrocker in South Texas

That would be a plus in your favor to have the thermostat changed,especially if you don't know when it was changed last. That way you know what you have. <br /><br />Taz

I would also suggest a new impeller be installed, as you don't know if current one has been run dry. Although thermostat will effect operation of motor, an impeller is absolutely necessary to keep the engine from overheating.

I am with roscoe on this one, if you have them open it up to do the thermostats you should have them do the impeller also. ;)
