Friend's Alpha 1 gen 2 had about 4 inches of left to right slop at the outdrive with steering wheel held. He bought the JR kit, and last night we removed the gimbal ring and the steering lever. Did not *look* as bad as we thought it should. However, when we put the square swivel pin back into the gimbal ring, and torqued the pinch bolts to 55 pounds, the shaft was still just as loose. This should have zero play in it, right? the gimbal ring should pinch the shaft tight? At any rate, ring is going to get redone by JR marine....
