Think I figured out my shifting issue (pics)

First time changing the impeller and I guess it shows. What did I forget to put back on? I remember other posts but haven't been able to find the answer.

Good thought, but it's a Gen II, there is no washer.

Fact is, I have no idea how that happens on a Gen II
Sure wish we had one at the shop to look at.
