Suzuki 20 FI motor will be here in 2-3 days. Told my wife this thing is worthless to me if it won't plane with two aboard. Not much I can do to regain lost horsepower at this altitude. Props, hydra foils, transom height ain't going to get it back. Fuel injection will calibrate at this altitude, won't gain lost hp but will set best possible fuel ratio. 2011 Tohatsu With less then 25 hours is up for sale.

Good for you.... I'm jealous! I'm going to run my current setup for my 3 year registration.... Then I'll probably upgrade to a 14' on a trailer and a newer 25hp

Looks as if you have the cure for the high altitude problem. Hope it serves your needs.

Congrats way to go. At altitude having an inyected or carb engine will not make a huge difference, so expect some HP loss too. Is the lacking of correct amount of oxygen for neat combustion to happen compared to sea level use, all engines are factory calibrated at sea level for sea level use. At altitude is other story.

Electronic inyected engines will compensate better timing advance and fuel delivery as opposed to carb motors, but not compensate poor air intake breathed from altitude ambience. Anyway 5 K Ft is not that huge altitude and a 20 HP will compensate much better power loss and performance than a 9.8 HP.

Happy Boating
