I'm pretty new to boating and bought an 89 19ft cobalt and am already realizing that i want something bigger and with more power. Started looking recently after getting a big raise and came across this Larson was wondering what you guys thought. The owner of the shop told me that the 09's are gonna see a 14% increase in this series.

This is the boat i'm looking at:
It's an 2008 228 LXI Larson
BLACK BOAT, 350 MAG MPI Mercruiser 300 HP, Bravo III twin prop, Bow and cockpit canvas, Bimini top, Wide band paint option, Clarion stereo with sirius satelite, Transom stereo remote, Cockpit table, Air compressor, Captains call exhaust, EZ loader custom trailer.

For 40,000 and he's gonna give me a really good price on my trade.

Thanks guys for any help,
Doogie

derek, do a search for "Larson" and you'll find what's been said about them. It's a new boat so not much anyone can say - either it fits what you want or not. the condition is, well....new. Seems like a good power choice going with the 300hp, should do fine.

In general, most place Larson in the upper-entry level quality category. It's not the cheapest but far from the luxury brands. A lot comes down to how it's layed out compared to what you want. Bargain hard as dealers are desperate to move product this year!

Good luck.
