I had a 30cc 4-cycle Ryobi power head that smoked, spit oil out of the muffler, then locked up. Took it to a Authorized Ryobi Service Center. They said that the timing belt ????? had slipped. They indicated that the remedy was to just chuck it over the back fence and they called Ryobi and ordered a new replacement to be shipped to me. I had the power head for one year. They are warrantied for three years.

I would get a "BIG" Hammer and take my frustrations out on it then go get a new one .

I would be guessing but it sounds like a worn cylinder since I am not there to mic it and know for sure.Little engines like that have a short stroke and short piston and skirt allowing them to rock when they get a little wear and wallow out the bore. The only way to know for sure is to mic the bore. It's probably not worth sleeving. Good luck.
