THOUGHT it was starter but not so sure

in my bayliner capri 2.1 aq 125b ...out of the blue... i just got a click...when i turned her over....did it iagain and again just a click. then started right up. strange.... happens with more and more frequency. i tested the starter it is fine..what do you think maybe fauly sending wire (what are the odds right )

Welcome Aboard!
Have you cleaned tightened cleaned all your connections? From battery, ground, solenoid..Sounds like you are only getting intermentent juice..


In the Adults only section at the top of this page there is a section on diagnosing starter issues.. Bunch of guys here much MUCH brighter than I that will chime in as well..

Ayuh,..
Remove, sand, clean, reinstall,+ Grease all the wiring Ends,....
Positive, (+)....
And,..
Negative, (-)....
Both Ends of All the wires...

Clean all connections as described first, then also check the battery. If the connections are/were corroded then it was not getting charged optimally either.

I have also heard of symptoms like this when using a deep cycle type battery for starting especially if they are not at full capacity, they do not have quite the first jolt capability that a cranking battery has. Even a cranking type battery can act like this on its' last legs.
