Re: Thoughts and Prayers Needed
Efhenry, I hold out hope for your friend... At least he got medical care.. This hits close to home for me... I had a VERY similar incident back in 98 when I tried to part the water with my head.... I was 24 - 25 years old and the "I can do anything" attitude... I'm very lucky I'm still here..

Let me go back in time... I was into competitive kneeboarding, big time... Spent loads of money on equipment, gas, travel expenses, and entry fees... Loved the sport...

One nasty fall with lots of air and speed, face first = Concussion, bad...

Got myself back in the boat, said to my buddy "Thats it, I quit, I aint kneeboarding anymore" because I new someting was very wrong... I sat down in the passenger seat and passed out... My friend did'nt realize (i don't think) what was going on with me.. I Came too as we pulled up to the boat ramp with not a clue as to what happened... Managed to get the boat on the trailer, gave my bud the keys to the truck and told him he was driving me home, got in the truck and passed out again... In and out a few more times at home...

I'm getting long winded here... Anyway, not one of the people around me had enuff common sense to take me to a doctor... I did'nt either, I mean hey, I just had a concusion and I aint thinking rite either... I could have been in the same shape as your friend and nobody would have known untill it was too late...

I learned alot that day about responsibility and life in general.... I don't kneeboard anymore.. I'm not scared of it and would go again, but it just would'nt be as fun as it was...

Seriously, I'm thinking about your friend Efhenry, and I hope he pulls through ok...
