With Carls last outburst here at home, the probation officer was not going to file the violation order. The PO said since Carl passed his drug screen, he said he really didn't think Carl needed to go to Juvie. I didn't think much of his decision, but went along with him.

While Carl was at the physk ward again, he was caught picking on 2 girls.(he is always in trouble around girls) Carl denied that he was and then cussed the nurses out. They told him to go to his room and he refused. So security was called. When they showed up, Carl charged at them! One of them had no choice but to get him to the floor. In the process is when Carl got his head smashed into the floor resulting in the black eye/goosegg on his eyebrow. They even resulted to the tazer. Carl finally was restrained and given a strong seditive.

Now the PO has finally filed the probation violation. He has told me that he talked to Carl for about 2 hours at the hospital. During the conversation he had, Carl convienced him that he was going to change. Carl is very good at this.
So the PO said he was not going to recommend Juvie at this time.

Duh? How many breaks is this kid going to get? Even the counselor said this is what Carl needs. The nurses at the hospital said they don't want him back and that he needs Juvie.

Should I send the PO a letter suggesting that he should rethink about Carl and Juvie. I really hate to see him go. If something is not done now, someone is going to get seriously hurt because each time he has an outburst it escalates more. (even while he is on his meds)

When I was his age and got into minor trouble, I always got the book thrown at me! :( Jealous I guess.

Carl has a pattern of 2nd and 3rd chances, and then someway somehow he gets his way. This will not be good when he does turn 18.

hello
dude my prayers are with ya. I have a daughter and an exwife that have bounced in and out of pshyce wards. when thaey were not accusing me of domestic violence. it got better a few years back. the ex became the ex and I had custody of both kids. now the daughter has graduated high school and the son is almost out of the 8th grade. both have done ok. so keep plugging and do what you have to do. always remember its not your fault it just is. nothing you can do but try to protect him as well as you and others. its a tough call.
good luck

ever consider euthanizing the kid. sorry for that, but that kids got issues. btw, in an earlier post you state that you give the kid smokes for doing chores--endorsing the kid using tobacco i assume. yes, i cans say prayers and so forth to solve your situation, but...up to you man. seems that you are asking PO and others to fix your kid. ever consider do it yourself. this post may, is, harsh, but folks have posted the tough love treatment for Carl..how about you..

I still love ya man.
Pat

Go over the PO's head... Talk to the man in charge... Talk to the Judge...

SS, no one knows this kid better than you and your family.
If you feel he is a threat to you, your family, or himself, do as was said earlier post, go to the judge yourself and have a chat with him and tell him your fears.

A person does not have to live like that.

no problems in jail crab?

i was going to ask the same questions pat. giving him smokes as a bribe? wanting him to go to jail? i don't care how bad my kid was, i wouldn't want him in jail. i'd always want one more chance to help him.

btw, my brother is a complete screw-up, and sounds a lot like your kid. somehow, my parents have not given up on him. he's doing "ok" right now. but none of us want to see him back in jail.

good luck.

hey SSM, good luck & i believe you will make the best decision. i know you don't want anything but the best solution to change the young man. if some others here think you simply want to send him to jail to avoid dealing with the problem, then ignore that crap. just my 2c :)

some of the probs with our society is due to letting some slackers get away with wrongdoing with just a slap on the hand. not exactly the same scenario here, but - i bet every serial killer had some blubbering relative that would love to tell the world how good hearted the terd really was.

i've been on both sides of this kind of stuff too, been bad, been hung out to dry, and had to help bail some out on my recognizance. letting them take their just punishment is WAY different from giving up on them. peace :D

Pretty sure you need a high school diploma or equivalent to go into the service now. That is a much better option than jail, they can make a man out of you quick.
